Now these wines have arrived in the US. Their Côtes du Rhône Rouge is made with a classic blend of 70% Grenache, 25% Syrah, and 5% Mourvedre from vines that average 30 years in age.
Les Dauphins has been a hot brand of wine from the famed Côtes du Rhône since its introduction in 2011. The wines are available in 25 countries and are just now making their way to retailers and restaurants in the USA. The wines are crafted by winemaker Guillaume Vali. He is a winemaker with a minimalist approach choosing to let the grapes and the terroir speak for themselves. The Les Dauphins are built to compliment traditional French Bistro fare and their value-minded prices have been a plus with wine lovers everywhere.
Deep, crimson red with hints of ruby.
The nose classically represents the region offering waves of ripe and dried tart berries with accents of earth, wild flowers, brown baking spices, and dried herbs.
The palate echoes the nose delivering a juicy core of ripe black fruits with flanking notes of herbs, earth, and spice.
Medium-bodied with ideal balance along with a vibrant dose of acidity and soft tannins.
How to Serve
This needs nothing more than a glass but it's fantastic with nearly everything from pizza to Coq au Vin.
