Brand Story

Nia translates as intention or will in a number of languages. The intent of the creators of Nia was to create the best value Pinot Noir. The wine is crafted by Ed Killian, a veteran California winemaker with over 30 years of experience. Killian has been the lead winemaker at Chateau Souverain since 1995. Nia's creator, Phil Laramore, had a line on some great Pinot Noir in Mendocino County just north of Ukiah. The lovely fruit along with Killian's touch conspire to create a Pinot Noir that would turn heads at twice the price. The Nia label is set to soon release a Chardonnay and a Cabernet later this year. The goal is for the entire line to be bottled with the California appellation and the price tag to sit at the a comfortable $10. Buy these wines by the case.

Brilliant, deep ruby red color. The nose reveals complex aromas of ripe, red cherry with raspberry and tart cherries supported by accents of mineral, dried herbs, and soft earth tones. The palate echoes the nose delivering a fruit-centric core that features both ripe, sweet cheery along with tart cherries, cassis, and raspberry framed by earth and spice. Medium-bodied and ideally balanced with a vibrant fruit core that is flanked by earth and spice notes.

How to Serve
