This wonderfully balanced and vibrant Rum is made primarily with both molasses and fresh cane juice. It's aged first in American white oak (Whiskey) casks and then finished in French oak Cognac barrels. Rubirosa is made at the Dominican's largest Rum distillery from an old recipe that has been out of use for some time. The Rubirosa 8 year is a rich and decadent Rum — the kind that you want on a cool night or around the fire with a great cigar. Brand Story

Rubirosa is a terrific new Rum brand created with quality Dominican Rum and named for perhaps the most famous Dominican of the 20th century, Porfirio Rubirosa. Rubirosa was a Dominican diplomat who became an icon of style and noted adventurer playing polo, driving race cars, flying planes, and searching for sunken treasure. In the 1950s he was one of the world’s most talked-about playboys. It’s no wonder that Rubirosa was the man who inspired Ian Fleming to create the character James Bond. The Rums are created using an old recipe that has been closely held by its creator for decades. Now this Rum has the name and iconic package it deserves.

Tasting Note

Beautiful, deep amber color. The nose is complex and seductive offering scents of butter toffee, roasted pineapple, vanilla bean, and dried cherries accented by dark caramel, macaroons, and hints of allspice. The palate is in full agreement with the nose delivering a lush caramel and tropical fruit-driven core with waves of baking spices, sweet oak, decadent ginger biscuits, and kola nut. Full-bodied with ideal balance thanks to a fresh dose of acidity and lovely savory and sweet pepper accents found only on the finish.
