Kennedy Shah Tempranillo Columbia Valley 2011
In the Glass
Brilliant, bright ruby red color.
The nose reveals a lush and juicy wine with loads of black and red fruits with violets, brown baking spices, and hints of vanilla.
The palate echoes the nose delivering a big and juicy fruit forward wine with ripe, sweet cherry and blackberry supported by hints of tart berries, and spice.
Intensity & Texture
Lush and decadent this wine is made for drinking today with great balance and soft, subtle tannins.
Tempranillo is one of my favorite varietals and when it is done well by US growers I am always pleased.
At $20 a bottle it is in line with its peers.
Made with 100% Tempranillo, a great Spanish varietal that has found a home in Washington's Columbia Valley benefiting from the sunny, warm days and long, cool nights.
How to Enjoy
Drink up, no need for cellaring this wine as it's ready to go. Serve with cured meats including the spicy varieties as this juicy red can take it.
