Brilliant, light golden color.

The nose is moderately intense offering scents of green apple and white peach with supporting notes of wet stones and spring flowers.

The palate confirms the nose delivering a green fruit-driven core with flavors of kumquat. The finish is crisp with soft citrus accents.

Medium-bodied and nicely balanced with a vibrant texture.

Analysis

The fruit for this wine was picked entirely by hand. Fermented and rested in stainless steel to retain the fresh, crisp flavors while complexity is gained by the wine maturing on its lees for a period of fours months. The Cuvée René is named for René Dopff who took over Dopff & Irion in 1945. 90 points.
