Tongue Dancer Wines Pratt Vine Hill Vineyard Chardonnay Russian River Valley 2023
We at BevX have reviewed thousands of wines for nearly two decades since launching in 2006. In this time, just three wines have earned the rare 100-point moniker. Two of these three centurians were made at Tongue Dancer Wines, including this, the fourth edition of their Pratt Vine Hill Chardonnay 2023. Troon Vineyard Druid’s White Applegate Valley 2024Hazy, medium green/gold color. The aromatics are intense, offering scents of spring flowers, pear, and guava with supporting notes of jasmine, apricot stone, citrus zest, honey, and accents of candied ginger. The palate confirms the nose, delivering a ripe orchard fruit-driven core with flavors of white peach, nectarine, orange peel, and hints of green tea. The finish is long and lingering. Troon Vineyard Druid’s Pink Applegate Valley 2024
Bright, medium salmon color. The nose is moderately intense, offering scents of strawberry, apricot stone, and dried herbs with supporting notes of red grapefruit zest, kumquat, quince, and violet. The palate confirms the nose, delivering a red and black fruit-driven core with flavors of raspberry, rhubarb, boysenberry, and slate. The finish is long and lingering. Medium-bodied and perfectly balanced with a supple texture. Made with a blend of 62% Mourvèdre, 18% Grenache, 8% Cinsault, 7% Carignan, and 5% Counoise. $30 – 4.5 Stars/94 points
Troon Vineyard Druid’s Red Applegate Valley 2024
Hazy, deep ruby color. The aromatics are intense, offering scents of black plum, boysenberry, and dried herbs with supporting notes of earth, black tea, and hints of leather. The palate confirms the nose, delivering a red and black fruit-driven core with flavors of blackberry, elderberry, baking spices, tart cherry, and truffle. The finish is long and lingering with chewy tannins. Medium to full-bodied and perfectly balanced with a supple texture. $30 – 4.5 Stars/95 points
