Beverage of the Week
Troon Vineyard Druid’s Fluid Red Applegate Valley 2021
Troon’s love of red and white Côtes du Rhone wines provided the needed inspiration. The 2021 vintage of the Red Druid’s Fluid will be the last to include Tempranillo while the Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Grenache will surely stay. Many of the grapes harvested within days of each other were co-fermented outdoors… See the Beverage of the Week feature

Inama Soave Classico 2020
Brilliant, light green/gold color. The aromatics are intense, offering scents of spring flowers and green melon with supporting notes of kiwi, fresh herbs, mineral, and orange peel. The palate echoes the nose delivering a ripe orchard fruits-driven core with flavors of white peach, pear, and blanched almonds. The finish is crisp. Medium-bodied and perfectly balanced with a vibrant texture. If you are seeking a white with guts while being nimble and refreshing this is your wine – 100% Garganega. $18 – 4 Stars/92 points
Spirits Reviews
Lucano Amaro
Brilliant, deep mahogany. Bold aromatics with rich fruit compote featuring bitter herbs with ripe red berries, citrus zest, wild flowers, brown baking spices, and accents of vanilla, wild honey, clove, and hints of anise. The palate confirms the nose being lush and silky delivering a rich, ripe fruit concentrate with waves of bitter herbs, exotic brown spices, and decadent treacle. Supple while vibrant and satisfying with a viscosity that lingers for a good minute. Ideally balancing spice, fruit, and sweet flavors in total harmony. $29.99 – 4.5 Stars
Lucano Anniversario Amaro
Brilliant, deepest mahogany. The nose is luxurious and complex offering scents of wild mint, rhubarb, orange peel, licorice, cinnamon, and dried herbs. The palate echoes the nose delivering a lush but vibrant core of bitter herbs with fresh and dried citrus zest elongated on the palate with notes of minty fruitcake and vanilla bean. Full-bodied with incredible complexity, length, and ideal balance thanks to a generous dose of citrus-like acidity with peppery herbs. Made for Lucano’s 120th anniversary using an ancient recipe by Cav. Pasquale Vena — more potent and drier than their classic Amaro. $35.99 – 4.5 Stars
Lucano Anniversario Limoncello
Cloudy, looking akin to freshly squeezed lemon juice. The nose is filled with the scents of freshly cut lemon zest with accents of tart lemon juice, hard lemon candy, and lemon oil. The palate echoes the nose delivering a moderately sweet, concentrated lemon flavor with loads of freshly squeezed lemon zest and sweet cane sugar. Medium-bodied and vibrant with abundant, fresh citrus flavors — slightly drier than most commercial Limoncello. $24.99 – 4 Stars
Lucano Anniversario Cordial Caffe Liqueur
Brilliant, dark mahogany color. The nose is filled with the scent of espresso beans, dark cocoa nibs, black coffee, and vanilla bean. The palate echoes the nose delivering a rich but nimble roasted coffee core with supporting notes of brown sugar, cocoa, and vanilla cream. Medium-bodied with layers of coffee and dark chocolate with enough dark roasted coffee accents to add balance and interest. $26.99 – 4 Stars
Lucano Sambuca
Brilliant, crystal clear with clear signs of viscosity. The aromatics are profound with pure scents of star anise and fennel seed supported by notes of pepper, dried flowers, and citrus accents. The palate is in full agreement with the nose delivering a viscous anise explosion with flanking notes of candied orange peel and black licorice. Full-bodied and wonderfully intense while maintaining some vibrancy and balance despite the sweet core. $24.99 – 4 Stars
