    Brilliant, deep amber with a fine creamy head. The nose is complex with generous malt and toffee notes with piney and mildly earthy hops notes. The palate echoes the nose delivering a lush and silky malt-driven core with waves of caramel, toffee, brown bread, and dark chocolate with hints of brown baking spices. Full-bodied while being vibrant on the palate with great balance with a slightly dry finish. 4 Stars

    Brilliant pale, golden color with a fine bead of bubbles and a soft white head. The aromatics are fresh and crisp with scents of pale malt, semisweet grains, and a soft, subtle hop accent. The palate echoes the nose delivering a light and refreshing palate entry with subtle malt notes and just enough hops to keep it crisp. The palate echoes the nose with generous notes of roasted malt and dried fruit being assertively dry and bitter showcasing classic English hops.   • Deep golden color, moderately cloudy with fine bead bubbles and a thick, white head. The nose very floral and filled scents of wild honey, fresh herbs, and grain with faint accents of ginger and clove. The is fresh and generous while vibrant with dry notes of whole grain bread, honey taffy, and roasted nuts with accents of citrus zest. Ideally balanced and well proportioned. 4 Stars

    Brilliant, deep golden/amber color. The aromatics are fresh and vibrant with bready notes first greeting the nose followed by caramel malt and a bright dose of Hallertau hops. The palate echoes the nose delivering toasted and slightly sweet malt-driven core with waves of toasted bread and hops. Medium-bodied and perfectly balanced being more restrained and dry than most American Oktoberfest. 4 Stars

  • St. Feuillien Cuvée Noel (Belgium)

  • Deep amber to mahogany color. The aromatics are wonderfully complex and inviting. With a little time in the glass you are confronted with scents of fruitcake, toffee, treacle, cherry, sweet malted barley, currants, and brown baking spices. The palate delivers the promise of the nose. Lush while balanced with baked fruit flavors accented by spice and a fine carbonation. Lovely. 4 Stars

  • Full Sail Old Broadhead Barleywine Ale (USA)

  • Deep amber/burgundy color. The nose is rich with sweet, caramel, a touch of allspice, rich malt, roasted nuts, toffee, and baked apples. The palate concurs being rich and lush while ideally balanced with fresh acidity and bright hops notes. A blockbuster Ale with super balance and layers of flavors to add interest. A very stylish Barley Wine. 4 Stars
