Beer Reviews

    Better than booze Elderberry G & T

  • Crystal clear with faint, fine bubbles. The nose is filled with the scents of red berries and citrus with subtle herbal accents. The palate is in full agreement with the nose, delivering a berry-driven core with subtle gin-like notes. Refreshing and not too sweet. Medium-bodied and nicely balanced with a tart berry and citrus zest finish. 3.5 Stars

  • Q Mixers Spectacular Tonic

  • Brilliant, crystal clear with a fine bead of bubbles. The nose is rather subtle with soft earthy tones coming through with hints of citrus. The palate delivers a more potent quinine punch than the nose would suggest giving the tonic any earthy, slightly tannic mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with a firm quinine grip. 3.5 Stars

  • Summit Brewing Great Northern Porter

  • Dark chestnut-brown with a generous head. The nose is filled with charred raisin, coffee, dark chocolate, and well toasted almond aromas. The palate is silky smooth with a refreshing dry edge accented by dark roasted coffee notes. Medium-bodied with a bitter finish. 3.5 Stars
