Beverage of the Week
Ayinger Oktober Fest-Märzen (Germany)
Ayinger Oktoberfest-Märzen is a classic German lager from Ayinger, the Bavarian brewery whose beers have graced American shelves for decades. Brewed in March, as its name suggests, this traditional Märzen is patiently lagered to be ready in time for Oktoberfest, the world’s most famous celebration of beer. Anyone who’s run a lager program knows what that patience actually costs…

Castelli del Grevepesa Clemente VII Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2020
Brilliant, deep ruby color. The aromatics are intense, offering scents of black currant, dried herbs, and forest floor with supporting notes of five spice, plum, and cedar. The palate echoes the nose, delivering a red and black fruits-driven core with flavors of black cherry, cocoa, black tea, and slate. The finish is long and lingering with dry tannins. Medium to full-bodied and perfectly balanced with a supple texture. $19.99 – 4 Stars/92 points

Yuengling Oktoberfest (USA)
Brilliant, medium-copper color with a generous white head. The nose offers classic Oktoberfest-Marzen aromatics of caramel-touched malt with toasted grains, floral hop accents, and a hint of burnt orange. The palate confirms the nose, delivering a malty, rich core with waves of natural acidity, herbal accents, and subtle hop notes rising on the finish. Medium-bodied, with a vibrant yet opulent core that exhibits ideal balance and great length. Brewed in the USA but its DNA is pure Bavaria. Available seasonally, August through October. $7.99, 6-pack cans, 12 oz. – 4.5 Stars
Spirits Reviews
Luxardo Espresso Liqueur
Brilliant, dark mahogany color. The nose is filled with scents of dark roasted espresso beans with supporting notes of dark chocolate with hints of vanilla bean and brown sugar. The palate is in full agreement with the nose while being a bit sweeter as the sugar adds depth to the espresso elongating the palate with notes of vanilla bean and cocoa nibs. Full-bodied and generous with espresso and supporting flavors — ideal for cocktails. $24.99 – 4 Stars
