Aperol Spritz
A BevX Cocktail Recipe
The Aperol Spritz is a straightforward, mildly bitter-sweet cocktail that has come to represent Italian aperitivo traditions. It’s wonderfully refreshing, combining the iconic Liqueur created in 1919 with Prosecco, resulting in a cocktail with a naturally moderate alcohol impression. A single sip transports you to the Italian Aperitivo culture, with its roots in Venice but ubiquitous throughout Italy. It’s a can’t-miss party starter.
Ingredients
2 oz. Aperol
3 oz. Prosecco
1 oz. (or a splash, or a top off) club soda
1 orange slice
Occasion
Wherever you are, it’s Aperitivo time somewhere. The Aperol Spritz is always a hit, and prescribe BevXers to have one a week if you are able.
Method
Build the Aperol Spritz in a wine glass, starting with ice, then Prosecco, Aperol, and soda water. Garnish with an orange slice.
Variations
There can be only one. We love a good spritz, and the genre is quite broad, but there is only one Aperol Spritz.
