The Italian Daiquiri
The Daiquiri is a classic cocktail that has seen more than its share of modifications and variations through the years. BevX prefers the shaken variety over the blended. Our "Italian" version veers from the classic recipe while preserving the flavor profile. It also includes one of the most popular liqueurs, so you may have all of the needed ingredients living in your liquor cabinet. If you love the original Daiquiri as we do, give this version a try.
Ingredients
1 1/2 oz. Light Rum
3/4 oz. Limoncello
1 oz. Limejuice
Lime wheel for garnish
Occasion
Serve this ultra-refreshing drink anytime a thirst-quenching, citrus-forward drink is craved.
Method
Rim the glass with sugar, or lime zest-accented sugar if you like. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker along with a handful of ice. Shake with vigor and strain into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass — garnish with a lime wheel and serve.
Variations
This drink is a variation of the original. If you would like to keep the Italian motif while creating a completely different drink, swap the Limoncello for Amaro to create a deeper, spicier drink.
