Beverage of the Week

Ayinger Maibock (Germany)Ayinger Maibock (Germany)
The great Beers from Ayinger have been available in the US for more than two decades. Their Maibock is brewed in the fall and released in the spring. It’s just sweet enough to fortify while offering a great balance of spice with a delicate hop inclusion finishing with a vibrant dose of acidity…

Wine Reviews

Tablas Creek Patelin de Tablas Rosé Adelaida District 2023
Brilliant, light peach color. The nose is moderately intense, offering scents of nectarine, peach, and apricot stone with supporting notes of strawberry, orange peel, and lavender. The palate confirms the nose delivering a red fruit-driven core with flavors of raspberry, kumquat, dragon fruit, and citrus zest. The finish is long and lingering. Medium-bodied and perfectly balanced with a vibrant texture. Made with a blend of 71% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre, 8% Vermentino, and 1% Counoise — perhaps our favorite Patelin de Tablas Rosé to date. $28 – 4.5 Stars/96 points

The palate echoes the nose delivering a black fruit-driven core with flavors of black cherry, garrigue, earth, and tart raspberry. The finish is long and lingering with chewy tannins. Medium to full-bodied and perfectly balanced with a meaty texture. Made with a blend of 44% Grenache, 33% Syrah, 19% Counoise, and 4% Mourvedre. $40 – 4.5 Stars/95 points

Spirits Reviews

Whiskey Del Bac Normandie Single Malt American Whiskey
Brilliant, medium tawny/amber color. The aromatics are very intense, offering scents of toffee, candied ginger, and charred oak with supporting notes of caramel and butterscotch. The palate is in full accord with the nose delivering a stone fruit-driven core with flavors akin to baking spices, cocoa, and nutmeg. The finish is long and lingering. Full-bodied and ideally balanced with a supple texture. $90 – 4.5 Stars
