Beverage of the Week

Troon Vineyard Cuvée Pyrénées Applegate Valley 16Troon Vineyard Cuvée Pyrénées Applegate Valley 2016
Tannat and Malbec mingle frequently in the Southwest of France. In Cahor while the wines are dominated by Malbec it is frequently blended with Tannat. This great blend from Troon is playfully named Cuvée Pyrénées a call to the great and often unheralded wines of this region… See the Beverage of the Week feature

Spirits Reviews

McQueen and the Violet Fog Gin
Brilliant crystal clear. The nose is quite alluring offering generous scents of wild flowers, candied lemon peel, and anise with supporting note of evergreens, pepper, and citrus. The palate echoes the nose delivering a complex and spicy citrus-driven core that is redolent of orange and lime with accents of juniper, pepper, and tropical flowers. Medium to full-bodied with ideal balance offering rich fruit notes with generous acidity and spice to foil to lush core. Made in Brazil – yes Brazil! The sugarcane based spirit is infused with 21 botanicals including six that are apparently not found in any other Gin. Hedonistic and delicious. $34.99 – 4.5 Stars

Wine Reviews

Uvario La Loggia Rosso IGP Toscano 2016
Brilliant, dark ruby color. The aromatics are very intense offering scents of boysenberry and raspberry with supporting notes of dried herbs, hibiscus flower, and forest floor. The palate confirms the nose delivering a red and black fruits-driven core with flavors of mineral and black plum. The finish is long and lingering with silky tannins. Medium to full-bodied and nicely balanced with a meaty texture. $17.99 4 Stars/90 points
