Bread & Butter Chardonnay California 2015
In the Glass
Brilliant, light green/gold color.
The nose is moderately intense offering scents of butterscotch, lemon curd, and vanilla with supporting notes of blanched almonds.
The palate confirms the nose delivering a tropical fruit-driven core with accents of lychee, citrus, and mineral. The finish lingers with soft vanilla and butterscotch notes.
Intensity & Texture
Medium to full-bodied and nicely balanced with an opulent texture.
This cool grade for this wine has to incorporate the Value grade as well. Offering a tasty and reliable Chardonnay from California is certainly cool.
As we have pointed out in our "Cool" evaluation, one of the highlights of this complex and very pleasing is the value price.
Bread & Butter wines are rapidly becoming a household name delivering a duo of popular varietals (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir) from California. Unlike many of the larger volume brands, Bread & Butter is made from grapes sourced from selected vineyards rather than a simple blend of bulk wines. The Chardonnay grapes are sourced from two California vineyards in Carneros and the Arroyo Seco AVA in Monterey County. The wine went through malolactic fermentation resulting in a opulent texture. This wine was matured in both American and French oak casks. 91 points.
How to Enjoy
