Analysis
Tongue Dancer Wines (TDW) has just introduced Foxtrot Pinot Noir. We are intrigued by any new release from TDW but this one exceeded our high expectations. The Foxtrot is one hell of a Pinot Noir that is bold, exotic, and pleasingly vexing while being thoroughly true to the varietal. The grapes hail from the Wightman House and Boudoures Vineyards in the Anderson Valley. All grapes were hand-picked and gently de-stemmed before going through a five-day cold maceration. It was then fermented primarily with native yeast with daily punchdowns. The wine spent 11 months on the lies in French oak — 15% new oak. There was just a light filtration at bottling because why mess with a good thing. We are thrilled by this wine and we are hopeful that this is a regular part of the TDW lineup going forward.
How to Enjoy
This wine really needs nothing but a glass but the rich texture and bright acidity would love to pair with grilled sausages or your favorite charcuterie.
