Brilliant, deep bronze to amber color. The nose is filled with the scents of dark, brown sugar and oak with accents of campfire, earth, maple, leather, and graphite. The palate is in full accord with the nose delivering a pepper accented caramel center with supporting notes of baked fruits, clove, mace, and oak. Brilliant, deep amber color. The aromatics are very complex and alluring, offering scents of toffee and caramel with accents of orange peel, sandalwood, maple, and brown baking spices. The palate echoes the nose delivering a lush, toffee-driven core with accents of cinnamon, dark chocolate, clove, allspice, and oak. Full-bodied and perfectly balanced with integrated flavors of caramel, citrus, and spice. $149 – 4.5 Stars
Uncle Nearest Single Barrel — Batch 002 Straight Rye Whiskey
Brilliant, deep amber color. The nose is filled with the scents of baked apples and caramel with waves of maple, brown baking spices, vanilla cream, and black pepper. The palate is in full agreement with the nose delivering a honey and caramel-centric core with generous spice and pepper accents followed by hints of sandalwood, apple skin, and almond fudge. Full-bodied and amazingly intense while showing remarkable finesse considering the alcohol strength and the spicy rye flavors. $89 – 4.5 Stars
