Pascal Biotteau Mary Taylor Selection Anjou 2019
Brilliant, medium golden color. The nose is fairly intense offering scents of ripe pear and white peach with supporting notes of slate and lemon curd. The palate echoes the nose delivering a ripe orchard fruits-driven core with a generous dose of citrus flavors, apricot stone, wild honey, and slate. The finish is long and lingering with accents of mineral and lime zest. Medium-bodied and perfectly balanced with a vibrant yet supple texture. $16 4 Stars/93 points

Amrut Old Port – Deluxe Rum
Deep bronze to mahogany color. The aromatics are quite fragrant and pretty with waves of butterscotch, molasses, allspice, and candied orange peel, with accents of clove and cinnamon. The palate confirms the nose on the front of the palate as it delivers rich honey and toffee notes but it soon becomes astringent with cold black tea and wood notes taking center stage. Medium-bodied with good proportions and a fresh dose of acidity are certainly positive but the tannins are a tad too high. $24.99 – 3.5 Stars
