Whitecliff Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 2020Whitecliff Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 2020
Our first review of a 2020 wine at BevX — it’s a winner. The grapes were harvested at night, a technique used by winemakers to pick fruit at the coolest part of the day to preserve the grape’s vibrancy and aromas. Wine Reviews

Gary Farrell Selection Pinot Noir Russian River Valley 2017
Brilliant, medium ruby color. The aromatics are very intense offering scents of red cherry and pomegranate with supporting notes of raspberry, forest floor, mineral, and black tea. The palate confirms the nose delivering a red fruit-driven core with flavors of sweet and sour cherry, rhubarb, and roasted mushrooms. The finish is long and lingering with silky tannins. Medium to full-bodied and perfectly balanced with a supple texture. $45 4 Stars/93 points

Spirits Reviews

West Cork IPA Cask Blended Irish Whiskey
Brilliant, medium copper color. The nose is fresh and vibrant with the scents of citrus with ripe and baked orchard and tropical fruits, along with accents of toffee and vanilla bean. The palate fully concurs with the nose delivering a lush but vibrant grain-driven core with layers of ripe orchard fruits, honey, sweet malt, and caramel. Medium to full-bodied with a lush grain and fruit core foiled by refreshing citrus notes. This Whiskey is a 75/25 blend of Irish wheat and malted Irish barley. The final blend spends six months in casks that had held Blacks of Kinsale’s IPA. $32.99 – 4.5 Stars

Don Q Reserva 7 Rum

Brilliant copper to amber color. The nose is absolutely beautiful and complex offering scents of deep caramel, baked orchard fruits, roasted nuts, cocoa nibs, and brown baking spices. The palate echoes the nose being lush and rich while vibrant with caramel and silky brown butter foiled by accents of pepper, oak, and a subtle salinity. Medium to full-bodied with perfect balance as the spice notes and abundant acidity match the decadent caramel flavors. A blend of light and heavy Rums aged in American oak for a minimum of seven years. $24.99 – 4.5 Stars
