Brilliant, crystal clear. The nose is very alluring as it offers a complex mélange of dark cocoa with supporting notes of rich caramel and dark roast coffee with just a hint of vanilla. The palate fully concurs with the aromatics as it delivers a very generous explosion of chocolate with accents of caramel and mocha with a soft lactic note that's foiled by dry roasted cocoa beans. Medium to full-bodied with decadent chocolate flavors that never becoming cloying rather it invites consecutive sips. $24.99 – 4.5 Stars

Brilliant, crystal clear. The aromatics are wonderfully assertive with layers of orange zest equaled by dense orange pulp and subtle accents of sharper sour citrus notes. The palate echoes the nose delivering a concentrated blast of sweet orange on the front of the palate that quickly becomes a bittersweet Mandarin orange wave that finishes with bright citrus acidity. Medium-bodied and ideally balanced as the vibrant bitter and sweet fruit is foiled by bright acidity. $24.99 – 4 Stars

  • King of Kentucky 14 Years Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey

  • Brilliant deep cherry wood color. The nose is amazingly harmonious and complex even before a water addition. (It's better after a splash of water.) The nose is filled with scents of charred oak, baked apples and pears, caramel, brown baking spices, and leather. The palate echoes the nose delivering a dense fruit and chocolate focused core with generous waves of brown baking spices and oak with subtle hints of mint, pineapple, and pepper. Full-bodied with a complex and dense palate that greatly evolves with water and aeration. Sip slowly as it's not cheap and there are just about 1,000 bottles available. $199 – 4.5 Stars

  • La Luna Lote #7 Joven, 100% Cupreata Mezcal

  • Brilliant, crystal clear. The aromatics are wonderfully complex and compelling with lovely floral and citrus notes lingering just behind the bright, and subtly sweet wood smoke. The palate confirms the nose delivering a rich baked agave core with waves of smoke, citrus, and vanilla with accents of black pepper and chili on the finish. Full-bodied with a opulent texture and complex flavors framed by bright acidity contributing to the deft balance. A lovely artisan Mezcal with style and panache. $42.99 – 4 Stars

  • Semental Añejo, 100% Agave Tequila

  • Brilliant amber color. The nose is anything but subtle with rich, oak influenced aromatics leaping from the glass. There is a core of tropical like fruit here but the dense oak notes deliver scents more reminiscent of Bourbon than Tequila. The palate fully concurs as it delivers a sweet caramel and cola attack that has overtaken the abundant agave fruit found in their Silver. The finish is peppery and sweet with brown spirit flavors. Medium-bodied, sweet and angular flavors. This is an odd bird. While we are not fans of a heavy wood character in our Tequila the wood is the only thing propping up this Tequila. $59 – 2.5 Stars
