Spirits Reviews

A very fragrant Whiskey with scents of fresh grass and spring flowers with touches of candied almonds, mango, and a faint coconut impression. The palate delivers on the promise of the nose being youthful while lush and generous with flavors of baked orchard fruits that become quite dry and a bit green on the finish. A very good value. $19.99 – 3 Stars

Copper color. A delicate but expressive nose with notes of caramel cream with sweet grain. A soft palate entry baked with firm toasted grain and oak notes complimented by hints of honey and vanilla. A wonderfully harmonious session dram. $18.99 – 3 Stars

Pale golden color. The nose is filled with Whiskey notes as opposed to a heavy dose of wood notes. It’s quite complex and very pleasing offering scents of wild flowers, vanilla. orange honey, shortbread, and Bourbon. The palate is in full agreement with the nose being dry with a mild, sweet smoke accent. An interesting Whiskey but at this price few will be tempted to own a bottle. $100 – 3 Stars

Bright, light golden color. The nose is dominated by grain notes with hints of roasted nuts, the pages of old paper, and citrus. The palate is in full agreement with a medium-body and grain forward flavors. It finishes rather dry with austere notes of steel-cut oats and toasted seeds. $ – 3 Stars

Deep golden to amber color. The nose explodes with the fresh, sweet scents of Bourbon casks with floral notes, cinnamon, and sassafras. The palate echoes the nose delivering a lush, sweet core of caramel-drenched grains with a sprite peppery, ginger like heat. A tasty Irish blend that offers many possibilities as a straight dram or in a number of cocktails. $21.99 – 3 Stars

Brilliant, bright copper color. The nose reveals a gorgeous honeyed fruit core with evidence of a sweet malt component and accents of roasted cashew, toasted grain, and treacle. The palate agrees with the nose being a bit drier than expected with an interesting dark chocolate and coffee note on the finish. A real charmer. $21.99 – 3 Stars

Bright copper color. The nose is remarkably similar to the classic Tully with the difference being made in its concentration. This Whiskey is a bit more dense showing aromatics of orange peel, cinnamon, and allspice, with accents of dried fruits. The palate echoes the nose offering a pleasing viscosity and sweet, vanilla tinged Bourbon notes. A charming dram. $23.99 – 3 Stars

Bright copper color with touches of gold. The nose is soft, pretty and seductive with scents of grain, fresh baked bread, spearmint, orange, and spring flowers. The palate is equally soft with a bit of an oily character to add length and texture. The sweet malt really shows thought with accents of vanilla. It’s a very pretty Whiskey that has always been a sentimental favorite of mine. $17.99 – 3 Stars

Perfectly crystal clear. The nose is unmistakably coconut with sweet coconut filling the air with notes of sweet pineapple juice, vanilla, and peach in support. The palate is in full agreement with the nose as sweet coconut notes dominate the viscous, candied core. A bright addition to tropical cocktails begging to be paired with a generous addition of fresh lime juice. $18 – 3 Stars
