There’s so much news still to bring you from last week’s Beer Summit in San Diego.
Like the session with Molson Coors CMO Michelle St. Jacques, where she not only revealed their seltzer players climbing the ranks – she also teased an interesting Miller Lite Super Bowl play.
TOPO CHICO NOW THE NO. 4 SELTZER BRAND. “Topo chico ended 2021 as the no. 5 brand in the seltzer category . just in 9 states,” MSJ told our audience last week. But it’s still climbing: Just since January, it’s now no. 4.
REGIONAL STATS: OVER A 10 SHARE OF SELTZER IN ARKANSAS; MORE. People love it “across the country,” she explained, but it’s seeing some bright spots in expansion markets. “For example, In Arkansas we’re over a 10 share of seltzer; in Mississippi over an 8. Even in states like Wisconsin,” which has a lower awareness of the non-alc Topo brand, they’re “already at almost a 4% share.”
Recall, the company recently announced the brand’s national launch. It’s still “early days” for that rollout but ultimately they “have a goal of making it a top 3 brand in seltzer.”
