Brilliant, dark crimson color.

Aromatics

The aromatics are very intense offering scents of cassis and black cherry with supporting notes of blackberry, five spice, black tea, and vanilla bean accented oak.

Flavor

The palate echoes the nose delivering a black fruit-driven core with flavors of black fruits, plum, rich cocoa, and vanilla. The finish is long and lingering with supple tannins.

Intensity & Texture

Full-bodied and nicely balanced with a voluptuous texture.

Cool Factor

We at BevX love a good red blend as we experience the symphony of flavors and aromatics that each varietal brings to the blend. Cabernet Sauvignon is certainly in the lead but the supporting players bring a lot to this blend.

Value Grade

At $50 this is not likely an everyday wine for you but it's not supposed to be. Set aside for a holiday or big occasion and do serve with food.

Analysis

For lovers of bold Red Blends the Provenance DeadEye is a must-experience wine. This wine is proof-positive that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. This unique blend is made with a blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12 % Petite Sirah, 5% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, and 2% Malbec. The grapes were sourced from outstanding lots from selected locations in the Napa Valley. Nearly half of the grapes (45%) came from St. Helena with contributions from Howell Mountain, Oakville, and Spring Mountain among others. All of the grapes were harvested at night and then cold-soaked to ideally extract color and varietal character. Fermentation was conducted exclusively in barrel and then further rested in oak for 18 months. The resulting wine is richly textured with superb length and balance.

How to Enjoy

Serve at cellar temperature (60F) and please decant this complex wine to release its full potential. Serve with grilled lamb, game, or bold vegetable dishes. Enjoy today or cellar for five to 10 years.
