I simply love the combination of coconut water (available in any supermarket these days) and aged Rum. It's really one of the all-time great pairings. Add in limejuice and the unique flavor of tamarind and you have a drink that will instantly take you to the Caribbean.
2 oz Aged Rum
1 oz coconut water
1 oz lime juice
2-4 oz tamarind soda
Serve this cocktail anytime it heats up and you are ready for a tasty showcase for great aged Rum. It's a clever warm to hot weather drink being full of ice and the restorative properties of coconut water.
First three ingredients in shaker – shake well then add soda and strain into iced Collins or Mexican water glass. Garnish with lime wedge and an optional brown sugar rim.
The only variation worthwhile in my view is trying out various Rums based on your preference. The Rum makes this cocktail so choose wisely.
