This beautiful cocktail was created by Francesco Lafranconi. It is certainly a drink inspired by the Negroni. While so many Negroni variations fall flat the Sorrentino is equal to the Negroni. The name gives a nod to the beautiful southern coastal town of Sorrento, Italy the home of Limoncello.
1 Thyme sprig
1 oz. Bitter (such as Campari or Luxardo Bitter)
1 oz. Limoncello
1 oz. Sweet Vermouth
2 oz. Soda
The ultra chic and refreshing Sorrentino is always welcomed.
Build in old fashioned glass lightly muddling a thyme sprig then add ice, then the first three ingredients, stir and then top with soda and garnish with an orange wheel.
Just like with the Negroni you can tinker with the proportions. With just three primary ingredients you can greatly change the flavor of this drink by your choice of brands.
