The nose is filled with the scents of dried apples, apricots, and peach met with toffee, brown spics and sweet vanilla accented oak.

The palate is in full agreement with the nose delivering a lush and silky core that ideally marries fruit and caramel with roasted nuts, spice, and oak.

Full-bodied with a rich and dense core supported by bright spice notes and enough acidity to keep it refreshing.

Analysis

As the name would imply the Bacardi Ocho is aged in cask for a minimum of eight years developing loads of rich barrel notes while concentrating the spirit. After landing in Cuba in the 1800s, Don Facundo Bacardi Maso became a wine merchant. With a talent for blending, he created a lighter style of Rum by introducing column stills to Cuba. In 1958, the family fled Cuba’s political instability and established headquarters in Puerto Rico and have since become the world’s largest Rum producer.

How to Enjoy

This Rum needs nothing but a glass and perhaps a cube or two of ice. It's also recommended in an aged Rum Old Fashioned.
