Beautiful, deep amber/mahogany color.

The nose is complex and seductive offering scents of toasted oak, roasted nuts, candied-cherries, and vanilla beans with hints of creme brulee.

The palate echoes the nose delivering a lush caramel and toffee-driven core with waves of baking spices, sweet oak, nut butter, fruit cake, with accents of kola nut and an exotic blend of woods.

Full-bodied with ideal balance and an incredibly long palate that lingers on for minutes.

Cool Factor

A remarkable Rum in beautiful package that is named for one of the great playboys of the 20th century — who just happens to be the inspiration for Ian Fleming's James Bond character. Now that's absolutely cool.

Value Grade

Selling at $35 a bottle the quality to price ratio of this great, aged Rum cannot be beat.

Analysis

This wonderfully balanced and vibrant Rum is made primarily with both molasses and fresh cane juice. It's aged first in American white oak (Whiskey) casks and then finished in French oak Cognac barrels. Rubirosa is made at the Dominican's largest Rum distillery from an old recipe that has been out of use for some time. The Rubirosa 8 year is a rich and decadent Rum — the kind that you want on a cool night or around the fire with a great cigar. It's wonderfully complex while delivering pure hedonistic pleasure.
