In the Glass
Deep ruby red color.
The nose reveals a densely fruity wine with scents of concentrated red fruits, plum, cherry, and cassis with accents of mineral and oak.
The palate echoes the nose delivering a very lush and silky fruit-driven core with subtle notes of baking spice and oak on the flanks.
Intensity & Texture
Medium to full-bodied with rich, juicy fruit and enough bright acidity to keep it perfectly balanced.
This very pleasing Rhone inspired blend is sure to win new fans everywhere.
At $20 a bottle it is competing with a lot of well-made and just as well-priced wines from the Southern Rhone.
We have long been fans of the Robert Oatley wines. Bob Oatley, a born and bred Sydney man, has more than 40 years of agricultural experience in his native Australia. What wine fans may not know is that Bob is a world-class sail racer having won the prestigious Admirals Cup, in Cowes, England and four consecutive Sydney to Hobart yacht races with his Wild Oats series of super maxi yachts. This Rhone inspired red is made with a lend of 50% Grenache, 45% Shiraz, and 5% Mourvedre. 88 points out of 100.
