March 24, 2026, is National Cocktail Day. Who knew? This National Day was founded in 2013 by Jace Shoemaker-Galloway. This new holiday is designed to encourage making cocktails at home, enjoying them at your local tavern, and even trying new ones. While the National Day fad or tradition (it’s too early to tell) can be silly at times, we love this holiday, and we are happy to promote it. In sum, National Cocktail Day just seems like threatening us with a good time, and we are 100% in.
On this day, we at BevX would ask you to make every week a cocktail week. Just once a week, make a cocktail at home for yourself and your spouse, a significant other, a friend, or a neighbor. It can be a great weekly tradition that would inspire exploration. Here at BevX, we offer a free resource of hundreds of cocktail recipes. It’s easy to browse and explore, or you can look up cocktails by name or even search by the drink’s primary spirit.
If you are stuck choosing a drink for your weekly cocktail, we have done it for you with our Cocktail of the Week. This weekly feature has been in our top-five pages nearly every week since BevX launched in 2006. While this is very encouraging, I do believe that there is more voyeurism in the views than a spur to action.
We promote cocktails that are easy to make at home. With just a little practice, you can make cocktails at home that rival the best cocktail bars in your city. Being a world-class chef takes years of dedication and perhaps a healthy dose of talent, but nearly everyone can be a good-to-great home mixologist.
If you’re feeling stuck, we have chosen five cocktails that you can master in short order.
Five Cocktails for National Cocktail Day
Boulevardier — If you find yourself torn between ordering a Manhattan or a Negroni, relax, I have an excellent suggestion for you, and it’s called the Boulevardier. This is the first of two riffs on the classic Negroni and in truth the only two variations that we endorse!. — Get the full story and recipe here.
Negroni Sbagliato — The Negroni Sbagliato is one of my favorite variations of a classic. This drink combines the flavors of the classic Negroni with the vibrancy of a spritz. — Get the full story and recipe here.

The Aged Rum Sidecar — The Sidecar is a classic cocktail built with just three ingredients. This drink is one part French bistro, one part tropical adventure. — Get the full story and recipe here.
The Classic Gimlet — It’s believed that this drink was created to protect sailors from scurvy, giving a needed vitamin C boost via limejuice. A Gimlet proves that less can be more.. — Get the full story and recipe here.
The Perfect Margarita — Nothing says summer like the Margarita. Once you master this classic you’ll never be satisfied with flat Tacoria versions. — Get the full story and recipe here.
