Knickerbocker
This classic cocktail is one of the oldest drinks you will find in English print. The exact origins are much fodder for debate. Perhaps it was a signature drink of the old Knickerbocker Boat Club in New York. Regardless of its origins, there is no denying that it is a tasty cocktail in any era. We have seen some versions of the Knickerbocker that utilize Gin but we prefer the classic.
Ingredients
2 oz. Aged Rum
1 oz. Raspberry Liqueur (Chambord is a good choice)
1/2 oz. Orange Curacao
Juice of half a lime
Occasion
Enjoy this ultra refreshing cocktail all year long.
Method
Fill a small highball glass (the same glass that serves this cocktail) three-quarters full of ice. Pour this ice along with the four cocktail ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Give it a good shaking and pour the shaker contents into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.
Variations
We have spotted several version utilizing Gin but I prefer the Rum version.
