Beverage of the Week
Troon Vineyard Tannat Applegate Valley 2020
This is the sixth Troon Tannat that we have sampled and it is our clear favorite to date (keep in mind that 91 points was our lowest score for a Troon Tannat). The 2020 Troon Vineyard Tannat is the best American Tannat that we have ever tasted. The Troon Tannat grapes are grown in the high bench land above the Applegate River very near the spring snow lines…

Wine Reviews
Head High Zinfandel Sonoma County 2021
Brilliant, deep ruby color. The aromatics are intense, offering scents of black cherry and blueberry with supporting notes of strawberry, cola nut, earth, and black tea. The palate confirms the nose delivering a black fruit-driven core with flavors of black plum, blackberry, hibiscus flower, and pepper. The finish is long and lingering with ripe tannins. Full-bodied and nicely balanced with a supple texture. $28 – 4 Stars/91 points
Spirits Reviews
Bosscal Joven, 100% Agave Mezcal
Brilliant, crystal clear. The aromatics are wonderfully complex and seductive with baked orchard fruits, orange peel, and refined smoke with supporting notes of lime, mineral, and brown baking spices. The palate confirms the nose delivering a silky, wild agave-focused core with waves of blood orange, citrus zest, and campfire roasted tropical fruits with hints of salt and black pepper. Full-bodied with a supple texture framed by bright acidity contributing to its ideal balance. $44.99 – 4.5 Stars
Bosscal Pechuga de Conejo Joven, 100% Agave Mezcal
Brilliant, crystal clear. The nose is wild and complex with the scents of stewed apples and plums rising from the glass supported by notes of orange zest, quince, apricot stone, and fennel seeds. The palate echoes the nose delivering a decadent, orchard fruit-core with loads of spice, sweet orange, and more apples in every form from raw and green to roasted and honeyed. Full-bodied and bold with flavors that are quite unexpected. $99.99 – 4 Stars
Coppa Cocktails Mojito (RTD)
Hazy, green/straw color. The nose is filled with the scent of freshly picked and crushed mint leaves with supporting notes of limejuice and Rum. The palate is in full agreement with the nose delivering a refreshing, mint and Rum-focused core with enough tart lime notes to tame the sugar. Medium-bodied with waves of authentic Mojito flavors that are not at all diminished by the needed addition of ice. The most authentically captured mint flavors and aromas that we have ever encountered in an RTD. $17.99 – 4.5 Stars
Coppa Cocktails Piña Colada (RTD)
Creamy, opaque alabaster color with visible viscosity. The nose is filled with the scents of coconut cream and pineapple juice with additional tropical fruits in a supporting role. The palate confirms the nose delivering a creamy and silky coconut cream-focused core with waves of tropical fruits and hints of Rum — we wish it offered more Rum accents. Medium-bodied with ideal balance thanks to the refreshing citrus notes. $17.99 – 4 Stars
Coppa Cocktails Margarita (RTD)
Hazy, green/straw color. The aromatics are familiar with limejuice in the lead supported by subtle accents of Tequila and sugar. The palate echoes the nose delivering flavors reminiscent of a dilute Margarita with candied lime in the lead. Medium to light-bodied with quick-fading lime and Tequila flavors. $17.99 – 3.5 Stars
