Jikuya Black Sweet Potato Shochu — See the Full BevX Featured Review
Brilliant, crystal clear. The aromatics are subtle offering scents of cooked stone fruits and tubers with accents of clay, mineral, and grass. The palate is in full agreement with the nose delivering a dry, fruit-driven core with generous notes of earth, wet clay, and bamboo. Medium-bodied and subtly complex with intriguing earth characteristics. Made with sweet potatoes, Japanese rice, and black koji. $45.99 – 4.5 Stars

Jikuya White Sweet Potato Shochu — See the Full BevX Featured Review
Brilliant, crystal clear. The nose is absolutely beautiful offering scents of ripe stone fruits, as well as tropical fruit, white flowers, roasted sweet potatoes, and Darjeeling tea, with subtle herb and spice accents. The palate echoes the nose delivering a rich but vibrant roasted fruit and vegetable core with waves of mineral, herbs, and soft pepper accents rising on the finish. Medium-bodied and wonderfully complex with the flavors coming in subtle waves rather hitting you over the head with a dominant note. Made with sweet potatoes, rice, and white koji. $45.99 – 5 Stars

King of Kentucky Barrel No. 14 — 2022 15 Years Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Brilliant, deep amber color. The nose is amazingly harmonious, and complex with notes of sweet fruit cake, dense caramel, freshly hulled grains, honey, and cigar box with accents of candied ginger and brown baking spices. The palate echoes the nose delivering a robust, caramel and charred oak core with waves of dense fruit cake, toasted grains, and five spice. Full-bodied with a complex and dense palate that greatly evolves with water and aeration. Sip slowly as it’s not cheap and there are just 3,500 bottles available. $250 – 4.5 Stars

Rampur Double Cask Indian Single Malt Whisky
Brilliant, pale copper color. The nose is filled with the scents of stewed tropical fruits with a generous dose of vanilla, caramel malt, and brown baking spices with charred oak. The palate echoes the nose delivering a lush, Sherry-soaked fruit core with accents of candied orange peel, clove, and cinnamon bark. Full-bodied with loads of barrel-driven spice notes and an oaky finish. Non-chill filtered, rested on Bourbon and European Sherry casks. $79.99 – 4.5 Stars

NA Beverages

HOP WTR Blood Orange (Non-alcoholic) (USA)
Mostly clear with a subtle orange hue and fine bubbles. The aromatics are soft with ripe citrus fruit notes. The palate agrees with the nose delivering crisp, refreshing, citrus-forward flavors and subtle hop accents. Light-bodied and thirst-quenching — not at all sweet. $36.99 (12 pack cans) – 4 Stars

HOP WTR Classic (Non-alcoholic) (USA)
Crystal clear with fine bubbles. The nose is filled with a complex, piney hop notes. The palate echoes the nose delivering a hop-forward mid-palate (luckily more subtle than your typical USA IPA) with accents of citrus and earth. Light-bodied and thirst-quenching — not at all sweet. $36.99 (12 pack cans) – 4 Stars
