Domaine La Manarine Cotes-du-Rhone, Rouge 2021
Brilliant, deep ruby color. The aromatics are intense, offering scents of black currant, forest floor, and five spice with supporting notes of dried herbs, garrigue, leather, and black tea. The palate echoes the nose delivering a black fruit-driven core with flavors of blackberry, boysenberry, black plum, and slate. The finish is long and lingering with dry tannins. Medium to full-bodied and perfectly balanced with a meaty texture. $18 – 4 Stars/93 points

Samuel Maverick 5 Years Old Straight Rye Whiskey
Brilliant, medium golden/amber color. The aromatics are very intense, giving scents of allspice, charred oak, and candied ginger with supporting notes of banana bread, caramel, and rye. The palate echoes the nose, delivering a ginger-driven core with flavors akin to baking spices, anise, cereal, and amaro. The finish is long and lingering. Full-bodied and pleasingly balanced with a succulent texture. $50 – 4 Stars

Bright, medium golden/amber color. The aromatics are very intense, presenting scents of honey, roasted nuts, and charred oak with supporting notes of brown sugar, toasted grains, caramel, and five spice. The palate is in full accord with the nose, delivering a chocolate-driven core with flavors of cashew butter, gingerbread, and black pepper. The finish is long and lingering. Brilliant, medium copper/bronze color. The aromatics are very intense, offering scents of caramel, butterscotch, and baking spices with supporting notes of walnut, leather, and charred oak. The palate confirms the nose, delivering a roasted nuts-driven core with flavors of candied ginger, treacle, cinnamon, crème brulee, and black pepper. The finish is long and lingering. Full-bodied and nicely balanced with a supple texture. $135 – 4 Stars
