Cordero San Giorgio Tiamat Oltrepò Pavese 2019
Brilliant, medium ruby color. The aromatics are intense, offering scents of raspberry and bramble with supporting notes of black tea, forest floor, red plum, and clove. The palate confirms the nose delivering a red fruit-driven core with flavors of red cherry, forest floor, dried mushrooms, and hints of tamari. The finish is long and lingering with dry tannins. Brilliant, deep bronze color. The aromatics are quite complex and intense with waves caramel and cinnamon with dried fruit, toasted nuts, and soft, sweet earth tones. The palate echoes the nose delivering a spicy fruit and caramel-driven core with waves of mocha, vanilla cream, and hints of saddle leather. Full-bodied with bold fruit and spice displaying pleasing vibrancy due to bright acidity and ideal balance. $34.99 – 4 Stars
Green River Wheated Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Brilliant, pale gold/copper color. The nose is seductive with warm aromatics of toasted cereal enrobed in caramel with accents of baked peach, toasted nuts, and cinnamon. The palate is in full agreement with the nose delivering a toffee-driven core with supporting notes of brioche, candied cashews, honey, and black pepper accents on the finish. Full-bodied with a lush, silky texture balanced by generous spice notes. $34.99 – 4 Stars
