Beverage of the Week
2Hawk Grenache Rogue Valley 2017
BevX readers know that we love Grenache. For 2Hawk the 2017 vintage was one that rewarded patience as August 2017 was one of the coolest in two decades allowing the fruit to develop slowly while pushing back the target harvest date. The resulting wine is wonderfully complex while generously hedonistic like Grenache can often be. See the Beverage of the Week feature

Tenuta di Ceppaiano Violetta IGT Toscano 2015
Brilliant, deep ruby color. The aromatics are very intense offering scents of blackberry and five spice with supporting notes of black tea, earth, and vanilla. The palate confirms the nose delivering a black fruit-driven core with flavors of black plum, forest floor, oak, and slate. The finish is long and lingering with ripe tannins. Medium to full-bodied and nicely balanced with a supple texture. $25 4 Stars/90 points

The Bitter Truth EXR Bitters
Deep mahogany color. The nose is filled with the scents of dried herbs, bark, stewed fruits, and citrus peel with burnt caramel. The palate echoes the nose delivering a rich, viscous herbaceous core with sweet and tart fruits akin to Amaro with accents of bitter seeds. Medium to full-bodied with a viscous core relying on bitterness to give a refreshing edge. $34.99 – 3.5 Stars
