Wine Reviews

Exprimere Mia — Peake Ranch Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills 2021

Brilliant, medium ruby color. The aromatics are pleasingly intense, offering scents of red plum and raspberry with supporting notes of clove and slate. The palate confirms the nose delivering a red fruit-driven core with flavors of red cherry, pomegranate, five spice, and oak. The finish is long and lingering with silky tannins. Full-bodied and perfectly balanced with a supple texture — the essence of Pinot. Sold as a set with its sibling wine Persey. $118 ($235 for the pair) – 4 Stars/91 points

Brilliant, medium ruby color. The aromatics are intense, offering scents of boysenberry and raspberry with supporting notes of toasted oak, brown baking spices, and mocha. The palate echoes the nose delivering a red fruit-driven core with flavors of red plum, black tea, mineral, and mushroom. The finish is long and lingering with firm tannins. Full-bodied and perfectly balanced with a chewy texture. Sold as a set with its sibling wine Mia. $118 ($235 for the pair) – 3.5 Stars/88 points

Spirits Reviews

2 Gingers Blended Irish Whiskey
Brilliant, copper color. Vibrant while delicate with sweet grain and malty scents in the lead supported by honey, soft caramel, vanilla, and nutmeg with hints of orange zest. The palate confirms the nose delivering soft and silky malt driven flavors with a sweet fruity edge and a very spicy finish featuring black pepper and ginger (am I being persuaded by the title?). Medium-bodied with with lush but vibrant flavors with far too much going on to be labeled “light.” $21.99 – 3 Stars
