Tongue Dancer Wines The Sly One Chardonnay Dry Creek Valley 2021
Tongue Dancer Wines (TDW) “Sly One” just got really sly. For multiple vintage this expression was purely Pinot Noir and now we see that Chardonnay can be sly as well. Keeping with its namesake, The Sly One Chardonnay is TDW’s first Chardonnay from Dry Creek Valley, near Healdsburg. The vineyard is planted with the Montrachet clone — a name very familiar to white Burgundy lovers…

Hazy, medium deep ruby color with light stream of fine bubbles. The nose is moderately intense offering scents of wild raspberry, cherry, apricot and citrus zest with supporting notes of bees wax, citrus zest and hibiscus flower. The palate echoes the nose delivering a red fruit-driven core with flavors of mulberry, orange peel, and hints of rhubarb and quince. The finish is tart with soft tannins redolent of rustic French cider. Medium-bodied and perfectly balanced with a vibrant texture and pleasingly expansive palate.

Funkin Cocktails Nitro Pina Colada (RTD)
Hazy alabaster with a creamy, white foam layer on top. The aromatics are wonderfully intense offering scents of ripe pineapple with lime supported by notes of White Rum and hints of cotton candy. The palate echoes the nose delivering intense flavors of pineapple juice with mellow White Rum, wrapped in coconut cream. Medium-bodied with an ultra creamy texture that’s just a touch too sweet for us but it’s hard not to love. Pour directly into a cocktail glass or any glass to allow the nitro to bloom the cocktail and deliver the full potential. Add a squeeze of lime if you want more tartness. $13.99/4-pack, 200ml cans – 4 Stars
Funkin Cocktails Nitro Passion Fruit Martini (RTD)
Hazy, deep orange color with a creamy, white foam layer on top. The nose is very inviting, offering scents of ripe tropical fruit punch with crème brulée supported by notes of orange and star fruit. The palate is in full agreement with the nose delivering flavors that perfectly mimic a creamsicle with a sweet, lush, creamy orange center with tart tropical fruit accents. Medium-bodied with an ultra creamy texture that’s balanced by notes of citrus.
