See the Full BevX Featured ReviewBright chestnut with thick, white, rocky head. The nose is alluring and complex with scents of dense malt, earthy aged hops, and dried fruits with accents of bread dough yeast, caramel, and brown spices. The palate echoes the nose delivering a malty core with flanking notes of hops and earth. Medium-bodied with a creamy core while offering perfect balance and harmony. 4.5 Stars
Brouwerij De Smedt Affligem Abbey Dubbel (Belgium)
Bright red-chestnut with a rich, creamy head. Aromas show a sweet malted barley character with notes of dried fruits, allspice, cardamom, and sour cherries. Rich caramel malt flavors foiled by brown spices and tart fruits highlight the palate. Texturally it is very pleasing as the dense beads of carbonation roll and build to a creamy sensation Complex and balanced. Quite hedonistic. 4 Stars
