Product Story

We at BevX have been looking at a lot of ready to drink cocktails as the category is red hot and getting hotter. Recently, one of these cocktail brands caught our attention — FUNKIN cocktails. FUNKIN cleverly infuses their cocktails with nitro, much like the we have seen with a handful of premium beers most notably Guinness. The nitro infusion gives incredible texture to the canned cocktail giving it the feel of a fresh, hand-shaken cocktail. Their Pina Colada was our favorite of the group as it ideally marries real pineapple and coconut with Rum to create authentic tropical flavors.

Brand Story

FUNKIN Cocktails ready to drink line of cocktails is relatively new but FUNKIN has been in the cocktail business for more than two decades. Since 1999 FUNKIN has been supplying bartenders, at home and at the bar, with quality, real fruit cocktail mixers, purées, and syrups. Their experience and position in the market makes them uniquely qualified to enter the ready to drink market. Recently they have launched three of their cocktail expressions in the USA, Piña Colada, Strawberry Daiquiri, and Passion Fruit Martini. We see that they have introduced an Aperitivo Spritz in the UK and hopefully that soon finds its way to the USA.

Tasting Note

Hazy alabaster with a creamy, white foam layer on top. The aromatics are wonderfully intense offering scents of ripe pineapple with lime supported by notes of White Rum and hints of cotton candy. The palate echoes the nose delivering intense flavors of pineapple juice with mellow White Rum, wrapped in coconut cream. Medium-bodied with an ultra creamy texture that's just a touch too sweet for us but it's hard not to love. $13.99 –

How to Serve

Pour directly into a cocktail glass or any glass to allow the nitro to bloom the cocktail and deliver the full potential. Add a squeeze of lime if you want more tartness.
