Beverage of the Week (BOW)

Rocks! By Cornerstone White & Red California

Product Story

The White Rocks! is a unique blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, and Orange Muscat (see if your friends can guess). This is not a wine to sit and examine it's a wine to drink and enjoy. The Red Rocks! drinks like a Côtes du Rhône while it clearly is not a Côtes du Rhône – rather a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Pinot Noir.

Brand Story

Rocks! By Cornerstone was created to be the "house wine" for the Cornerstone Cellars club members. The wines had to meet the high standards set by Cornerstone Cellars and they had to be offered at an everyday wine price. Blends, and more exactly unique blends, were the way to go. Craig Camp, Cornerstone's managing partner, says, "It sounded like fun to create some wines that were not tied down to varietal labeling restrictions and just let our creativity go wild. So Rocks! was born and we could not be happier or more surprised by the success of what started out as such a small project."

Tasting Note

White – Brilliant, light straw color. Red – Brilliant, ruby to garnet red color. White – The nose is incredibly floral with ripe peaches, pear, star fruit, melon, and pineapple with a balancing citrus zest. Red – The aromatics open with ripe, freshly crushed red and black berries (more red than black) with supporting notes of baking spice, pepper, and subtle earth tones. White – The palate echoes the nose offering a lush and ripe fruit core that is more tropical than the nose with lime zest and tangerine notes rising on the finish. Red – The palate is in full agreement as ripe fruit and spice take the lead with accents of leather and earth. It finishes with a touch of dried berries and a subtle tart fruit note.

How to Serve

Turn cap and pour – it's ready to drink. This is perfect for summer and fall grilling, drink it solo on the patio or pair with light snacks.
