Fords Officers' Reserve Overproof London Dry Gin

Product Story

Nine botanicals seamlessly marry in the Fords Gin while the Italian juniper and coriander seed are primary. Also in the mix of nine botanicals are the following: bitter orange peel, lemon and grapefruit peel, jasmine, orris, angelica root, and cassia bark. This is the exact botanical mix found in their original London Dry Gin but one nosing and one sip reveals a very different presentation of these botanicals in the overproof environment. In our view both the original and this Officers' Reserve Overproof should have a place in your bar.

Brand Story

The Fords Gin is created at the prolific Gin specialist Thames Distillery by a collaboration of Master Distillery Charles Maxwell and Simon Ford of The 86 Co. Fords Gin was launched in 2012 as part of the quartet of spirits created by The 86 Co. Joining Fords Gin in the group is a Vodka, Rum, and Tequila. All brands were created with bartenders in mind utilizing ergonomic bottles that are easy to handle and the labels of each product includes meaningful information.

Tasting Note

Brilliant, crystal clear with a very pale straw hue. The aromatics of this Navy Strength Gin offers juniper, coriander, and citrus in equal measure with accents of brown spice and dried flowers in support. The palate echoes the nose delivering a lush and oily center palate with bold bursts of juniper, orange, grapefruit, and sweet herbal and spice notes dominate the core that becomes increasingly drier on the finish with vibrant citrus zest accents. Full-bodied with ideal balance and a texture, which is no small feat considering its considerable strength (54.5 abv). The Fords Officer's Reserve does not disappoint as it displays the same complexity and style of the original with a bold proof and subtle Sherry cask highlights.

How to Serve

The Fords Officer's Reserve Overproof London Dry Gin is perfect in a classic Gimlet or a supercharged Gin & Tonic.
