Beverage of the Week (BOW)

Piccolo Tesoro Rosé Extra Dry Prosecco DOC NV

Product Story

Made with a blend of 95% Glera (the essential Prosecco grape) and 5% Pinot Nero. The small portion of Pinot Nero is enough to add a beautiful pink color, as well as ripe red berry notes on the nose and on the palate. The Piccolo Tesoro Rosé is bottled as an "Extra Dry." In Prosecco terms this sits between Brut and Dry and is described as, "dry with a hint of sweetness." We find this refreshing Prosecco to be closer to Brut than Dry being drier than we expected.

Brand Story

Piccolo Tesoro, is Italian for “Little Treasure.” The brand boasts a wide portfolio of Italian wines that include sparkling, white, and red. Piccolo Tesoro is geographically diverse as well, including wines from the Veneto in the northeast of Italy, Chianti in central Italy, and Moscato from Sicily. What unifies the brand's portfolio is the value-minded pricing, landing their wines in numerous "Best Buy" listings.

Tasting Note

Brilliant, medium pink color with a medium bead of bubbles. The nose is moderately intense offering scents of peach and red berries with supporting notes of ripe pear, spring flowers, and red grapefruit. The palate confirms the nose delivering a red fruit-driven core with flavors of red cherry and raspberry with hints of mineral. The finish is long and lingering with crisp acidity. Medium-bodied and nicely balanced with a vibrant texture.

How to Serve

Piccolo Tesoro Rosé Extra Dry Prosecco is the ideal aperitif making your happy hour better. It is also great in a spritz cocktail.
