Verosso Primitivo IGP Salento 2016
Brilliant, medium ruby color. The aromatics are very intense offering scents of raspberry and pomegranate with supporting notes of dried herbs and mineral. The palate confirms the nose delivering a red fruit-driven core with flavors of red currant, boysenberry, and rhubarb. The finish is long and lingering with ripe tannins. Medium to full-bodied and nicely balanced with a juicy texture. A portion of the harvest is left to dry on the vines for an additional 3-4 weeks creating a "ripasso-style" wine. $13 – 3.5 Stars – 89 points
