Beverage of the Week

Goose Island Matilda (USA)Goose Island Matilda (USA)
Matilda is the ideal Beer to present to your “wine only” friends. They will be won over by this Beer’s complex and unique flavors. They may even be shocked that Beer can be like this while all of us Beer fans have known what great is capable of for some time.

Wine Reviews

Domaine de l’Eyrolle Lirac 2018
Brilliant, dark crimson color. The aromatics are very intense offering scents of black fruits and red cherry with supporting notes of raspberry, dried herbs, black plum, and cocoa. The palate confirms the nose delivering a red and black fruits-driven core with flavors of blackberry, black tea, red currant, anise, and oak. The finish is long and lingering with chewy tannins. Full-bodied and nicely balanced with a voluptuous texture. $25 4 Stars/93 points

Brilliant, bronze to amber color. The nose is filled with the scents of baked apples with accents of sweet, charred oak, caramel, vanilla fudge, and hints of five-spice. The palate confirms the nose delivering a rich yet sprite, apple-driven core with supporting notes of brown baking spices, sweet caramel, oak, and cinnamon. Full-bodied with sweet fruit supported by a generous dose of spice and caramel balanced with bright acidity. This is an American classic and it’s as good as ever. $24.99 – 4 Stars
