Powers John’s Lane 12 Years Old Irish Pot Still Whiskey
Deep golden/amber color. The nose is wonderfully complex with waves of pear, apple, plum, caramel, and vanilla filling the nose with supporting accents of earth, Sherry, cigar box, and dried flowers. The palate echoes the nose offering rich fruit and butterscotch core with waves of brown baking spices, pepper, and soft earth and leather accents. Full-bodied with a viscous center kept balanced by a generous dose of acidity, spice, and tart fruit notes. $65 – 5 Stars

The aromatics are intense, offering scents of apricot stone and spring flowers with supporting notes of lemon curd, grapefruit zest, candied ginger, passion fruit, meringue, and hints of vanilla. The palate echoes the nose delivering a ripe orchard fruits-driven core with flavors of tropical fruit, white peach, kumquat, and wild honey. The finish is long and lingering with accents of citrus. Medium to full-bodied and perfectly balanced with a supple texture. Made from grapes sourced from the Russian River Valley and Dry Creek Valley. $55 – 5 Stars/98 points

The aromatics are wonderfully intense, offering scents of lychee, citrus zest, and bees wax with supporting notes of kumquat, mineral, candied ginger, and hints of basil. The palate confirms the nose delivering a ripe orchard and tropical fruits-driven core with flavors of quince paste, semi-tart pineapple, red grapefruit, and zesty lemon curd. The finish is tart with abundant citrus accents. Medium to full-bodied and ideally balanced with a vibrant texture. The palate confirms the nose delivering a tropical fruits-driven core with flavors of white peach, apricot stone, orange peel, slate, and straw. The finish is a bit dull with earthy and stem notes. Full-bodied and fairly balanced with a chewy texture. $56 – 3 Stars/85 points
