Hacker-Pschorr OktoberfestHacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest
The name Hacker-Pschorr dates back to the marriage of Teresia Hacker and Joseph Pschorr. Under the couple’s leadership, Hacker-Pschorr advanced to become Munich’s leading major brewery in the 18th century. Hacker-Pschorr, founded in 1417, is one of six breweries to still be operating within Munich’s city limits. See the Beverage of the Week feature

Wine Reviews

Tablas Creek Grenache Blanc Adelaida District 2018
Brilliant, medium gold/green color. The nose is moderately intense offering scents of green apple and grapefruit with supporting notes of lemon grass, soursop, tarragon, and mineral. The palate confirms the nose delivering a green fruit-driven core with flavors of white peach, lemon curd, and citrus zest. The finish is long and lingering with bright citrus notes. Medium-bodied and perfectly balanced with a vibrant texture. $35 4 Stars/91 points

Tablas Creek Cotes de Tablas Blanc Adelaida District 2018
Brilliant, medium green/gold color. The nose is moderately intense offering scents of apricot stone and lemon grass with supporting notes of nectarine, mineral, and citrus zest. The palate echoes the nose delivering a ripe orchard fruits-driven core with flavors of lemon curd, kiwi, and wet stones. The finish is long and lingering with more mineral and citrus. Medium-bodied and perfectly balanced with a vibrant but lush texture. $30 4 Stars/93 points

Spirits Reviews

Amrut Old Port – Deluxe Rum
Deep bronze to mahogany color. The aromatics are quite fragrant and pretty with waves of butterscotch, molasses, allspice, and candied orange peel, with accents of clove and cinnamon. The palate confirms the nose on the front of the palate as it delivers rich honey and toffee notes but it soon becomes astringent with cold black tea and wood notes taking center stage. Medium-bodied with good proportions and a fresh dose of acidity are certainly positive but the tannins are a tad too high. $18.99 – 3.5 Stars
