Brilliant, deep ruby red color. It is intensely fruity with dense black and red berries, plum, and black cherry with supporting notes of allspice, toasted oak, and hints of smoked meats. The palate echoes the nose delivering a lush and robust fruit-driven core with vibrant tart cherry notes that keep the wine lively and incredibly long trailing black fruits with firm but accessible tannins. Medium to full-bodied this Tannat is ideally balanced and so vibrant on the palate that it never seems heavy while also being quite intense. $29 – 4 Stars – 92 points

  • Bodega Garzon Tannat Garzon 2013

Deepest, darkest ruby red color. The nose is rich and super concentrated with scents of roasted black berry, black plum, cherry, and eucalyptus, pomegranate, cigar box, and a bit of lapsang souchong. The palate fulfills the promise of the nose and then some delivering a mouth-coating black fruit essence with plenty of dried leafy herbs, mineral, and cocoa nibs in support. A real beauty that just gets better and better with more aeration so be sure to throw this in a decanter to discover its full potential. $19.99 – 4 Stars – 91 points
