Brilliant, medium ruby color. The aromatics are wonderfully intense, offering scents of black cherry and baking spices with supporting notes of raspberry, mineral, forest floor, and subtle hints of sweet oak. The palate echoes the nose delivering a red and black fruits-driven core with flavors of black plum, black tea, red currant, and vanilla. The finish is long and lingering with ripe tannins. Medium to full-bodied and perfectly balanced with a velvety texture. The first release of $39 – 4.5 Stars/95 points

Brilliant, deep coral color. The aromatics are intense, offering scents of red cherry and boysenberry with supporting notes of mineral, hibiscus flower, raspberry, and kumquat. The palate confirms the nose delivering a red fruit-driven core with flavors of juicy, wild strawberry, red plum, slate, and orange peel. The finish is long and lingering with tart cherries and citrus zest rising on the finish. Medium to full-bodied and perfectly balanced with a vibrant yet opulent texture. An annual favorite — this is one of our favorite vintages yet. $22 – 4.5 Stars/96 points

Spirits Reviews

Old Pulteney 18 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Brilliant golden/amber color. The nose reveals a very decadent Whisky offering rich scents of dark chocolate, baked apples, and generous waves of brown baking spices with accents of honey and hints of lemon curd. The palate is in full agreement with the nose delivering a dense and powerful chocolate and malt-driven core with waves of fruit cake, allspice, black pepper, and hints of briny Sichuan pepper. Full-bodied with loads of barrel-driven spice notes and an oaky finish. $139 – 4 Stars
