We had another busy week at BevX with new, tasty beverage reviews to share. This week we have four new spirits reviews. Enjoy!
The BevX reviews are like no other. We evaluate wines, beers, and spirits breaking down elements of appearance, aroma, flavor, texture and intensity as well the product’s “cool factor” and value. We also offer analysis on the creation of the beverage as well as any interesting points that make it unique. Van Gogh Acai-Blueberry Flavored Vodka
Brilliant, gorgeous violet/lavender color. The aromatics leap from the glass offering scents of crushed red and blue berries with accents of blanched almonds and subtle herbal notes. The palate is in full agreement with the nose delivering a sweet and tart berry core with accents of black tea, nuts, and cranberry. Medium-bodied with a sweet berry core with loads of vibrant acidity and thick tannins that offer structure.

Van Gogh Citroen Flavored Vodka
Brilliant, crystal clear. The aromatics are crisp and lively with fresh lemon and lime juice equaled by more tart notes of citrus zest with accents of mineral and lemon drops. The palate echoes the nose delivering a vibrant citrus pulp core with flanking notes of lemon and lime zest and subtle mineral accents rising on the finish. Medium-bodied and very refreshing with just a hint of sweetness present to tame the tart nature of citrus and to add body.

Van Gogh Dutch Caramel Flavored Vodka
Brilliant, rich amber, caramel color. The aromatics are quite decadent with deep, decadent scents of fresh off the stove caramel with accents of mocha, milk chocolate, and vanilla. The palate certainly concurs with the nose delivering a silky, rich caramel core with flanking notes of mocha and burnt sugar with accents of roasted nuts and chocolate. Medium-bodied with complex caramel flavors and bright acidity that keeps it fresh and vibrant.

Van Gogh Pineapple Flavored Vodka
Brilliant, crystal clear. The aromatics are very expressive with scents of the entire fruit exposed led by the sweet, ripe fruit with hints of the core, skin, and crown as well. The palate echoes the nose with the ripe fruit in the lead with subtle hints of orange peel and mineral with citrus rising on the finish. Medium-bodied with intense pineapple flavors that never become overly sweet with vibrant citrus accents offering balance and structure.
