Brilliant, crystal clear. The nose opens with pretty green apple and citrus scents leading to wet grains, honeycomb, dried flowers, wax, and hints of vanilla bean. The palate is in full agreement with the nose delivering a fruit and honey-driven core that is sweeter than the nose suggests giving a mild viscosity that offers dimension to the soft and subtle flavors. Medium-bodied with with generous fruit tones and waves of floral and spice notes with a touch of citrus to give balance. $21.99 – 3.5 Stars

Brilliant, crystal clear. Scents of toffee, toasted grain, honey, and citrus dominate with supporting brown spice accents. The palate echoes the nose with a spicy grain-driven core that shows more peppery spice than shown on the nose. Medium-bodied with bright citrus and spice to keep it fresh and clean. $19.99 – 3 Stars

  • Clase Azul Plata, 100% Agave Tequila

Brilliant, crystal clear. The nose is incredibly rich and sweet with scents of ultra-ripe tropical and orchard fruits. The nose is equally sweet and viscous with loads of agave honey, baked peach, and pineapple with accents of lime zest, sea salt, and hints of ginger. It finishes with a viscosity that coats the mouth and throat for minutes with lingering fruit and pepper notes. $79.99 – 3 Stars

  • The Macallan Rare Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Brilliant, crystal clear. The nose is rich with the scents of toasted grains equaled by notes of dense sherry with supporting notes of cocoa, green grass, orange zest, dried fruits, vanilla bean, and loads of brown baking spices. The palate echoes the nose as the sherry envelopes the spicy grain core that now exhibits more black pepper than is found in the aromatics. It finishes with a rich, sweet dried fruit focus with accents of brown spices. It's a full-bodied Whisky for sure but not as brooding as many heavily Sherry influenced drams and it has a long, lingering finish. $300 – 3.5 Stars

  • Colorado Sun 'Shine Moonshine USA White Whiskey

Brilliant, crystal clear. The nose is filled with the scents of sweet talc and corn Whiskey supported by notes of citrus redolent of limeade and lime zest. The palate echoes the nose delivering a thick and sweet core with copious amounts of sweet lime and candy sugar. Despite the high proof, this spirit is rather soft and pleasant on the palate with no significant sense of alcohol heat. $30 – 3 Stars

  • Haig Club Single Grain Scotch Whisky

Brilliant, crystal CLEAR. The aromas are simply beautiful with scents of butterscotch, fresh and baked apples, Calvados, pine needles, black pepper, shaved oak, and tropical fruits including raw coconut. The palate fully confirms the nose while being a bit more firm with a grip of cold, green tea tannins and a further pronounced black pepper note that flanks the lush fruit core. This is definitely a lighter styled whisky but it's far from faint. It's wonderfully complex with a great balance and a good bit of length. $70 – 3.5 Stars

  • Seraphin VSOP Cognac

Bright, copper color. The nose is wonderfully fruity veering toward Calvados (apples) with its aromatic signature accented by notes of clove, allspice, and oak. The palate is soft on entry with a peppery back and palate finish. Medium-bodied while being decidedly sweet and slightly viscous. $57 – 3 Stars

  • Auchentoshan Three Wood Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Beautiful amber color. A complex nose of toasted malt, dates and figs with a prominent sweet Sherry quality. The palate is soft and semi-lush with sherry sweetness, nutmeg, allspice, and dried fruits. Medium-bodied with nice balance and long lingering flavors. $65 – 3.5 Stars

  • Nardini Aquavite di Vinaccia alla Ruta - Flavored Grappa Grappa

Crystal clear with faint cooper-green color. The nose is amazingly complex offering scents of dried blueberry laced with the wild herbal aroma of rue (an herb thought to have sundry medicinal properties). The palate is wildly fruity touched with fresh, green herbs and green tea tannins. Medium-bodied with nice balance and long lingering flavors. I find it to be fascinating. An original flavor that will evoke a love or hate response.$65 – 3 Stars
